Kearney Crowns Three Champs at SEM Invite

The Kearney High junior varsity team won the Sumner – Eddyville – Miller invitational on Friday, January 11th. The Bearcats had two teams wrestling and placed two wrestlers in many weight classes.

At 106 pounds Josh Ross claimed his second tournament championship of the season with a victory over Troy Nekoliczak. Jordan Bober followed suit by claiming the tournament title at 113 pounds. Kearney also claimed championships at 132 pounds (Brady White), 145 pounds (Hudson Snider), and at 220 pounds with Aaron Griffith. This was the second tournament championship of the season for Aaron Griffith.

Drake Wilkerson was able to reach the finals at 132 pounds losing to teammate Brady White. Also finishing as a tournament runner up was Zane Hamaker (138lbs), Alek Duncan (145lbs), Easton Hansen (182lbs) and Gabe Ledesma (HWT). Consolation placing for the Bearcats were Dalton Hellman (138lbs – 4th) and Cason Halva (160lbs – 3rd)

The junior varsity team will be back in action this coming Saturday, January 19th, at the Lexington Invitational.
