JV Wins Franklin Invite


The JV Gold Bearcats take home the top spot and sweep the tournament with 230 team points while the JV Blue team wrapped up eighth place with 94 team points in the 17 team field invite. The Bearcats placed 18 wrestlers between the Gold and the Blue team with two champions.

The Bearcats showed up battled early jumping out to a quick team score lead dominating the competition. Leading the way were the two champions for the tournament at 113, Dalen Ritchie, and 170, Steven Berumen.

Taking the runner-up spot for the day was Devon Sell (106). Also placing was Kaden Bonner (120) 3rd place, Guage McBride (126) 3rd place, Koeby Bonner (132) 3rd place, Matt Oliphant (138) 4th place, Payton Bottorf (145) 4th place, Jerimiah Hagemann (152) 3rd place, Isaiah Stalbird (182) 4th place, Adrian Martin (195) 4th place, and Edwin Manzano (220) 5th place to round out the day for the Gold team.

The Kearney Blue team had a great showing as well placing eighth in the tournament. Placers included Ben Crocker (106) 3rd place, Ian Smith (126) 5th place, Daniel Crocker (132) 4th place, Tyson Cepel (138) 5th place, Beau Sostad (145) 5th place, Bronson Amend (160) 3rd place, Dominick Tavis (170) 5th place.

The JV Bearcats have a busy week ahead starting with an exciting back to back dual against North Platte this Thursday along with UNK. Then the JV team splits up and takes JV 2 and reserves to SEM invite in Sumner on Friday and the JV 1 Bearcats are in action at UNK competing in the UNK Midwest Duals.
