Kearney High wrestlers made a road trip to Lincoln to take on the Lincoln East Spartans in battle of two top 5 class A teams. This dual featured 14 ranked wrestlers, many of which were head to head throughout the exciting night of wrestling.
This last weekend Kearney High JV Gold and JV Blue attended the Pleasanton Kurt Keaschall Invite. In the 21 team field of wrestlers the Kearney JV Gold team placed 1st in the team score at this tournament with a score of 188.5 points while the Kearney Blue finished 9th.
Kearney High won an exciting local match up with Amherst High School by a final score of 54-19. Both the Bearcats and Broncos are ranked 7th in their respective classifications.
Kearney High School finished fourth place out of the 25 team field at the Flatwater Fracas hosted by Grand Island Senior High School. The Bearcats finished with a 5-3 record during their two days of competition while facing some of the best teams in the state of Nebraska.
The Junior Varsity Bearcats finish second place in the 13 field competition at the Northeast JV tournament scoring 176.5 points just out of reach of tournament champions from Lincoln East with 181 points. The Bearcats had six individual champions on the day.
In a loaded field with 41 teams from 5 different states, Kearney High School finished in 7th place at the Council Bluffs Classic. The Bearcats had 5 placers in what is considered to be one of the toughest tournaments in the Midwest.
