KEARNEY — What a difference a week can make for the Kearney wrestling team.
The Bearcats, who defeated Lincoln East in the auditorium a week earlier came out a little flat against North Platte on Thursday.
Kearney High put 9 wrestlers into the finals of the Lincoln Northstar Gator Invite to help claim its fifth straight Gator Invite team title. The Bearcats finished with 207 points, ahead of runner up Omaha Central who had 169 points.

KEARNEY — High school wrestling duals probably are not as big as they should be, really.
Some of the reasons they maybe could be is they’re more fan- and student-friendly than the large meets because they usually start in the evening, instead of early in the morning. Also, it’s our school vs. your school instead of having several teams, and duals are done in about two hours.
